Basic Guide To Swimming Pool Filters
About the Filters that you need
Whether in ground or above ground a swimming pool is a nice thing to have when the
weather heats up. One of the important pieces of equipment to keep your pool in a good and safe condition for you,
your family and friends to enjoy, is the pool filtration system. The filtrations system is used to keep the pool
clean of bacteria and to eliminate small items that may fall into the pool. The type of filtration system you will
need will depend on the size and shape of your pool and whether it is above ground or in ground.
There are a variety of filters to choose from. Filters that operate through earth, sand and mesh fabric. The
earth filter known as the DE filter filters through soil that is the consistency of a fine powder. It works as
either a spin filter or a vertical grid filter. The spin filter is no longer popular as it was not very reliable
and the vertical grid filter that replaced it does a better job. There is a sand filter that filters water through
fine sand allows the small particles to be filtered through the sand It allows the water to flow through easily.
The mesh fiber filter operates in the same manner as does the DE filter but without any other substance than the
mesh fabric.
Before you can determine the type of filter you need for your pool you will have to do a little math to
calculate how large a filter you need and type that you need. To begin with check out your multiplication if its
fine then the length width an depth of your square pool should be multiplied. For your circular pool multiply the
radius by the average depth of the pool. You will then have to determine the amount of water your pool with hold
and make note of that capacity. By multiplying the volume by 7.48 you can then determine the capacity.
When all of this is calculated and your stamina has not been dissipated, then you have to determine what type of
filter you want to use. Checking what we said about the types of filters that are available to you, decide if you
want a DE filter, a mesh fabric filter or, a sand filter. Do you want a pressure filter or a vacuum filter. The
filter should be a little larger than your calculations show to allow the filter of your choice to operate more
efficiently.
