POLARIS 280 REVIEW
The Polaris 280 pool cleaner has two wheels on the right side and one on the left side. The
Polaris 280 also has a long tail. Its body is shaped somewhat like a triangle. The color at which it is
available is blue and white. It has a flat right side and the front and back side starts on the right side and
meets in the middle of the left side. The leaf bag is situated on top of the contraption. On the underside of
the Polaris 280 pool cleaner is a hole that sucks the debris. The hose is also situated at the top of the pool
cleaner behind the leaf bag. There is also a float mounted on the hose cleaner to adjust its profile as it
glides along the bottom of the pool. The pump powers both the suction and propulsion by water pressure.
Thus the Polaris 280 is a highly advanced state of the art machinery meant for the sole purpose of
cleaning the pool by removing debris, leaves from trees, acorns, rocks or any other waste matter that may find
its way into the pool. It is a dependable cleaning machine, the Polaris 280 is powered by double jets to sweep and scrub the bottom,
walls and steps of the pool. Its tail serves a very important function by moving back and forth thus sweeping
the dirt from the floor and back into the water where it can be easily filtered. It also keeps the walls of
the pool clean. Even though the pool cleaner has a small hole it can still pick up even larger objects like
some toys or swimming goggles which means that it has a very powerful suction. Although if some objects are
too large they might get clogged in the hole, this can affect the capability and performance of the machine to
some extent.
The Polaris 280 pool cleaner should be cleaned out in accordance with how much it is being
used and in which conditions. For example during summer times it should be cleaned around twice a week but
during fall it need cleaning almost every day due to so many leaves and other debris which finds its way into
the pool. This machine requires occasional maintenance on the part of the owner. After a couple of years the
tires of the Polaris 280 will wear off but they are easily available a hardware stores and can be changed
whenever necessary. The pump of the Polaris 280 is very effective and does not even make too much noise. The
Polaris 280 comes with a controller which activates the pump for whatever time and length the main pool pump
runs. Thus it is an effective piece of machinery which if properly used can keep a pool clean for years.
For best results the Polaris 280 should be installed by a pool professional. Although if one has confidence and
knowledge about handling mechanical equipment the product manual may be referred. Another important point is that
before using the Polaris 280 one should check the wheel revolution per minute(RPM). The Polaris 280 should work between 28 and 32 RPM for maximum efficiency. If the Polaris gets
stuck in the pool or on the pool steps then it is most probably due to the wheel revolution. This machine is
available on the internet at around $850. Always disconnect the Polaris before cleaning or washing the filters
and allow the filtration system to run at least five minutes before plugging it back in. If one compares the
price with the number of years that it will provide excellent service then the value of this machine would
fairly surpass its cost.
