Polaris 360 Review
The Polaris 360 is designed to give its owner years of reliable and effective service. The
Polaris 360 like any other mechanical device requires regular maintenance, periodic adjustments and occasional
replacement of some parts. One should always buy genuine Polaris parts since non Polaris parts and not
compatible with the Polaris 360. It may also damage the machine or reduce its effectiveness.
The complete set of the Polaris 360 consists of many items, some of those are:-
1. All Purpose Bag
2. Head float
3. Sweep Hose
4. Sweep Cleaner
5. Hose Floats
6. Back up valve
It is quite easy to install and just takes a few minutes. Another
advantage of the Polaris 360 is that if ones particular pool does not have a dedicated return line it connects
to most of the return line using a specially designed adapter kit which is available at any Polaris store.
The Polaris is also packaged with a specially designed pressure tester installed on the hose. Since it is a
sophisticated piece of machinery it needs to be handled with care. If the pool has excess chlorine it can cause
maintenance problems thus the Polaris should not be used while chlorinating Also the Polaris should not be used to
clean out plastic dust found in new pools. Before swimming the Polaris should be kept out of the pool and when it
is powered up no one should handle it. The filter bags need to be regularly cleaned out
When handled properly the Polaris 360 scrubs, vacuums and sweeps the entire pools surface randomly. The climbing
ability of the Polaris basically depends on the shape of the pool and the water pressure or flow. The Polaris 360 works best in pools without sharp turns pr curves between the surface and the
pool wall. This device has another special feature that is after every three minutes or so it goes into back up
mode to avoid obstacles in the pools surface, this means that it has very less chance of getting stuck inside
the pool even if there are some obstacles in the pool.
The Polaris should never be kept in direct sunlight and during winter times when it is kept for storing it
should be dried out since freeze damage can affect the machine adversely.
The Polaris 360 has such advanced features that it does not need a separate booster pump to
clean the pool. It is also available in black color to complement dark bottom pools.
The Polaris also comes with two special accessories. The Polaris Spa Wand which is a hand held device that can
quickly clean ones spa and pool steps. It also comes with a waterstars fountain to add beauty and elegance to the
pool.
The basic pros of the Polaris 360 pool cleaner is that it cleans out the entire pool, it is inexpensive to use and
it circulates all around the pool. It also does an excellent job of delivering fresh water to all parts of the
pool. However the cons are that it needs supervision as it gets tangled sometimes, it has a flimsy design and is
sometimes ineffective. It basically gets hung up in one or two areas of the pool based on the length of the
attached hose. Another interesting fact about the Polaris 360 pool cleaner is that it can be used while someone
is swimming in the pool and usually turns the other side when it comes in contact with anyone. It is available
at prices between $450 - $550 depending on where it is purchased from. The initial expense is of course there
but the years of valuable service it would provide if handled is surely compensation enough.
